Digital Arts Engagement Comission With Young People (16+), St.Helens Council
A partnership has been formed between St.Helens Council Arts Service, Library Service, Youth Service and Re:new-neighbourhood management service to develop a commission that will engage local communities in arts activity culminating in a large-scale performance/exhibit/film or production as part of the St.Helens Town Centre Events programme 2012.
This commission is open to an arts organisation with a proven track record of delivering arts programmes using digital technologies – (drawing, film, animation, sound/music pervasive gaming etc) to engage with participants. We are looking to develop an exciting programme of arts engagement work within Parr that reaches and engages with residents who would otherwise not ordinarily participate in arts activity.
This project will seek to utilise the digital facilities within the library, as well as engaging with participants in activities in outreach settings where digital facilities may not be available and therefore the commissioned organisation would need to need to have access to portable digital equipment or be creative in their approach to engaging with in outreach settings.
The selected company should have previous experience of working with hard to reach groups and be able to deliver high quality arts engagement activity in non-traditional arts venues or in ways that do not necessarily involve participants engaging in a regular session or as part of a wider group (i.e. remote sessions where participants can engage remotely or take part in the programme from home)
The selected organisation should have a proven track record in marketing and reaching out to young people through non-traditional means. (e.g. should be able to engage with participants through social media opportunities)
Submissions must be received by Monday 21stNovember 2011 by 1700hrs.
Please note any organisations interested in this opportunity must apply through The North Local Authority Procurement Portal for which you must be registered – the link to which can be found here - http://bit.ly/u2kuRZ.
