In the exhibition FLUX, Edith Lundebrekke shows textile prints, wallpaper and reliefs. The basis of her art lies in the recombining of parts. Through the repetition of geometric shapes she examines image-making using various materials and techniques.
Simple structures form a foundation to develop a rich complexity of pattern that provides different levels of experience. Visual ambiguity occurs through optical effects and the viewer is challenged in the perception of object, surface, space and colour.
Edith Lundebrekke, who lives in Trondheim, was educated at the Faculty of Textiles, National College of Arts and Crafts in Oslo, Norway. She has had solo exhibitions in Norway and participated in group exhibitions nationally and internationally. Norway's leading art institutions have purchased her work and she has been awarded major commissions for hospitals, schools, embassies and the Government Representational Facility. This is her first solo showing in the UK.

What: Film: We Are Together
Where Art Nexus Café
When: Thursday 2nd December 2010, 7 – 9pm.
As its World AIDS Day on 1st December we would like you to Gather with us out of the cold in the cosy, warm surroundings of Nexus to enjoy this gorgeous film.
We Are Together: The Children of Agape is a documentary that advocates change. The film, about South African orphans who've lost their parents to HIV, will infect you with the desire and determination to make the world a better place for the remarkably charismatic, talented and soulful children of Agape. While the children of Agape have all been touched by tragedy, they've also adopted a unique means to cope -- music. As South African singing star Zwai Bala puts it, "We, South Africans, sing before we eat. We sing when we're happy, sing when we're sad. It's a healing thing." Music has become a balm for the Agape orphans, and they've formed a choral group whose music has attracted international acclaim.

We know it’s a little early to be thinking about next year’s Summer holidays, but these early bird tickets for Electric Elephant festival might make someone a very happy Yule Tide surprise!
Francois K (Deep Space, Wave Music NYC)
“Would highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't made the trip yet, it's really in a class of its own.”
The electric elephant is a music festival nestled in the ancient coastal village of Petrance situated on the sun sparkled sea of the adriatic with family run restaurants, villas by the beach to rent and independently owned small hotels and campsites. More than just a festival, It’s a holiday adventure, an escape, a musical getaway, a meeting of like minded souls that invokes the original spirit of the unspoilt Ibiza of the seventies and early eighties. Live love dance.
