The event is taking place due to a grant recently given by the RSA to promote recycling and creative reuse of fashion and textiles. The wool from the giant pom pom will be taken on to a recycling plant, where it will be broken down into it’s natural fibres and re-spun into a giant ball of yarn to be used for future clothes.

Brighton Fashion Week is inviting peope to take part in this unique event stating ‘We want to invite the community of Brighton to come get involved. Come and break the Guinness World Record with us!'

Pom Pom making shall commence in the Compartment spaces in the Open Market on London Road on the 26th April through to the 5th April. Then on the 6th this oversized textile will be taken to Jubilee Square, where the final assembly will take place.
